A United Methodist is...

a person without prejudice. In our membership vows, we declare that Christ has opened the church “to people of all ages, nations, and races”. Although all humanity was once divided between “Jews” and “Greeks” (non-Jews), we believe along with the apostle Paul that “There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male or female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). In other words, all those who put their faith in Christ are equal before God, and all who call him Lord are our brothers and sisters.
