Women in Ministry
Last year the United Methodist Women at our church donated $3550 to a variety of local and international missions.  We provided school and health kits for Haiti, donated to the St. Andrews Potato Project and the Adopt a Family Food Bank, and purchased two Personal Energy Transporters for an adult and child who had lost limbs in land mine incidents.  The Detroit conference collected $467,144.26 for missions last year.  Nationally the United Methodist Women consists of over a million members who raise more that $20 million a year for women, children and youth in the United States and more than 100 countries around the world .  And that's in addition to the work done by individuals and Circles locally.
